Abstract
결론
서울대학교병원 치과진료부 소아치과에 내원하여 Idiopathic gingival hyperplasia로 진단
된 13세의 여아에서 blade 및 laser를 이용한 치은 절제술을 실시하였다. 영구치의 구강내
맹출을 통해 교합 기능의 회복을 유도하였으며, 심미적인 결과를 통해 환자의 심리적 만족
을 얻을 수 있었다.
치은 증식의 원인이 불명확하였으므로, 이후 치은 증식의 재발을 방지하기 위해서는 계속
적인 구강 위생 교육의 실시 및 구호흡 등의 악습관 방지, 그리고 정기적인 내원을 통한 검
사가 필요하다고 사료된다.

This report concerns a 13-year-old female child with idiopathic fibrous gingival
hyperplasia for which the comprehensive diagnostic measures were taken to exclude
possible causes of it. The hyperplastic tissue was generally seen in the anterior and
posterior gingiva, characterized by firm and pale appearance with normal stippling
pattern and was interfering with eruption of succeeding permanent teeth. To provide
esthetic appearance and function, surgical and laser gingivectomy were performed on
upper and lower jaw. The reason for the hyperplasia was uncertain, so continuous
follow-up check should be needed for the prevention of recurrence.
